Our club will participate again this year in the Annual Area 4 Ride to Remember Sunday, 26 July 2009. The Funds raised will benefit the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

Membership BylawsI. Membership Qualifications and RequirementsMembership is open to all of those who: A. Are currently employed as, or has honorably retired from a position as a full time police officer or reserve/auxiliary police officer for any federal, state, county, or local law enforcement agency or a corrections officer for any federal, state, or county jail/prison or a telecommunications officer for any of the above stated agencies. B. Any member who ceases to maintain their status as stated in paragraph (1A) due to termination from or resignation from their employer, for any reason other than retirement, must immediately notify a member of the Club Board and relinquish their colors, thus terminating their Club membership. C. Suspension from duty does not affect a member’s status in the Club unless the suspension is for an indefinite period of time and pending termination. D. Own and ride a Harley Davidson motorcycle, or a motorcycle of a 750cc or greater which must be voted in by Club members at a formal Club meeting and pass by a majority vote. If a current member sells or wrecks or in the event that their motorcycle is stolen the member has 1 year to replace it or will have to resign from the club.. E. Members of the Blue Maniacs will resign from any other motorcycle club in which they are a current member, prior to obtaining Blue Maniac Colors and will not be able to join any other motorcycle club while being a member of the Blue Maniacs. Any Club member to be found holding another valid MC Club membership other then the Blue Maniacs will be immediately stripped of his colors and terminated from the Club. F. All persons interested in membership must attend one ride/event/meeting prior to application & fill out a Club membership application form and submit it to the Club Board of Directors. The applicants name will then be presented to the Club members at the next scheduled formal Club meeting where the members will vote on the applicant’s membership. The voting procedures shall be closed to all non-members. G. Once accepted into the club, the new member will be on probation for up to 1 year, and is required to complete 24hrs of service to the club within that time frame; the member may be terminated by the board for any violation of the by-laws within that 1 year period. Applicants must participate in 5 rides/events within that 1 year period (attending a meeting will count as a ride/event). Participation shall be documented on a Blue Maniac service card and must be signed off by either a member or board member. A ride card will be issued upon acceptance into the club. Upon completion of probation the newly accepted member will receive their colors at 2 ceremonies yearly. In June, at the annual picnic, or in December, at the Christmas Party.All Members are subject to yearly reviews regarding participation and conduct. H. All members in order to maintain their Blue Maniac status must attend the clubs annual picnic, the CPD Ride to Remember & 1 formal meeting. If a Maniac is not in compliance the member may be voted out of the Club at a formal meeting or fined. II. Dues and Fines A. Members are required to pay annual membership dues upon admission to the Club and each year thereafter. The amount of dues shall be determined by a vote of the Club membership at a formal meeting. B. Renewal dues will be paid every year in the month of February. No exceptions. Any member who has not paid their dues by the February meeting shall be considered in arrears. C. Any member in arrears shall be suspended from membership until he tenders payment. At which time the Club member will pay a late fee in addition to their renewal dues. Any member who fails to pay their renewal dues & fees by the April meeting will be terminated from the club. D. Dues for New Membership as of this date 01 June 2009 are $100.00 U.S.C (non refundable). Upon completion of the probation period, the member will be required to purchase his (colors) at a cost of $135.00. Yearly renewal dues are $100.00, late fee $50.00 E. A fine shall consist of $5.00 U.S.C. and shall be imposed upon any member of the Club for each violation of the Blue Maniac By-Laws. I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and the relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities.
